History (United States): Web Resources

The History Club is dedicated to enhancing awareness of current political events as well as our historical roots as members of this state, nation and broader world community. This organization is also concerned with increasing awareness of SMSU and the communtiy to the forces and factors that shape events in the world around us. The History Club's primary tools for accomplishing these goals include the sponsoring of informative lectures and panel discussions, attending area political and historical events, and creating displays and exhibits to commemorate key historic and political events.

Correspondence and Other Writings of Six Major Shapers of the United States: George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams (and family), Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and James Madison. Over 149,000 searchable documents, fully annotated, from the authoritative Founding Fathers Papers projects.

Making of America is a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction.

The National Archives preserves and provides access to the records of the Federal Government.
