What is ILL?
ILL = Interlibrary Loan
If we don't own it, we can borrow it from another library--and it's a FREE service!
Need to request an article or book via Interlibrary Loan? Check out the How to Request link in the Interlibrary Loan guide. It breaks down by Articles/Chapters and Books/Films/CDs and explains the process for each format.
Using Interlibrary Loan Services
If you need to use Interlibrary Loan Services and are unfamiliar with how it works, please see the Interlibrary Loan guide (linked below) for more information. Still have questions? Ask a Librarian!
Article Requests - Things to Note
- ILL requests for articles are sent only to your SMSU student email account.
- Your ILL requests for articles often arrive within 72 hours, but don't depend on it. Officially the minimum number of days between request and delivery is 10 days.
- The articles are available for 7 days or 5 access; whichever happens first, so you MUST be looking for your Interlibrary Loan request regularly or they will disappear.
