Public Relations: OneSearch (Books, eBooks, Articles & More)


OneSearch is a one-stop shop for searching library resources and is similar to Google being a one-stop shop for searching the Internet.  OneSearch searches both the online library catalog (e.g., books) and most of the library the databases (e.g., articles) simultaneously. 

Using OneSearch is a good option when:   

  • you aren't sure which database to use
  • your topic may be covered well in a number of databases
  • you are interested in seeing a variety of resources (e.g., books, newspaper articles, magazine articles, scholarly journals, etc.)

You can search the catalog for books about Public Relations here at SMSU as well as books available for interlibrary loan from other MnPALS libraries. Below are a few suggestions for books available at SMSU about Public Relations.

Requesting books via Interlibrary Loan

The FASTEST way to obtain a book, film, or CD via SMSU Interlibrary Loan:
Use OneSearch and Request!

1.  Search OneSearch
2.  If you can't find the book you are looking for, use the dropdown menu to extend your search to "All MnPALS Libraries."
3.  Click the title of the book you want to request. Under "Request Item," click on the link to log in using your Star ID and password.
4.  Once you've logged in, click "Place an ILL Request."
5.  A filled-in form will pop up.  Click "Submit," and your request is sent!

You will receive an automated email notification when the item you requested is ready for you to pick up at the SMSU Library Circulation Desk.*

*If your Library record indicates that you are a "document delivery" patron, the book or other item will be sent to you via U.S. postal mail.
