JUAD 498: Justice Administration Senior Seminar : Reference Sources

Why Use Reference Books?

Reference books do not check out and must be used in the Library. The purpose of using reference books is to

  • help you gain a working knowledge of the topic

  • provide reliable information in a concise format

  • subject-specific sources in particular can give you insight into key resources in that area of research (i.e., they'll have a bibliography that you can use as you begin your research)

  • aid in recognizing related topics

  • assist you in identifying good keywords to use in online searches

Potential Print Reference Sources

Consider using one or more of these references sources as you begin your research. They won't all have information on your topic...but some may provide just the jump start you need!
