Agricultural Education: Web Resources

The purpose of the SMSU Agriculture Club is to supplement the education of Agriculture students at SMSU through practical experience, to promote the pursuit of Agriculture as a career, and to develop the community's understanding of Agriculture.

EMAE stands for Education Minnesota Aspiring Educators, formerly known as EMSP, Education Minnesota Student Program. EMAE is a statewide active organization made up of those studying to be in the education profession. EMAE focuses on the development and connections for all education majors at SMSU and around the state of MN. EMAE is affiliated with Education Minnesota, American Federation of Teachers, and the National Education Association.

The National Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization (PAS) is an organization associated with agriculture/agribusiness and natural resources offerings in approved postsecondary institutions offering baccalaureate degrees, associate degrees, diplomas and/or certificates.

The Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators is an organization of teachers of agriculture at the high school, post-secondary, and adult levels who seek to advance agricultural education in Minnesota.

The National Association of Agricultural Educators is a federation of state agricultural educators associations with more than 7,800 members. Our members are involved in school-based agricultural education at any level, from middle school through postsecondary, and state and national agricultural education leaders.

Minnesota Ag In the Classroom provides free curriculum, educational resources, grants, outreach and professional development opportunities to increase ag literacy through K-12 education.

The Minnesota Department of Education develops, builds and maintains collaborative relationships with schools, districts and other stakeholders through a wide variety of advisory boards, councils and committees.

(MAELC) is a 17-member legislative council dedicated to improving and restructuring Agricultural Education in Minnesota at all levels. From basic food systems knowledge to advanced processing sciences, agriculture is the key to one in four jobs in Minnesota. Only with sufficient Agricultural Education can the state continue to grow and prosper.

The Council serves as a common meeting ground for agricultural education and represents organizations and entities representing students, teachers, teacher educators, state leaders, alumni, industry, and government.

The Council promotes success for students and teachers who participate in the formal agricultural education instructional programs offered in grades seven through adult throughout the 50 states and three U.S. territories.
